Ex-Cop Convicted Of Stealing Cash And Drugs, Extorting Motorists: Report
Antoine Larry, of Bolingbrook, worked for the Phoenix Police Department during the conspiracy, according to the indictment.
A federal jury on Friday convicted a former south suburban police officer of conspiracy and extortion after he repeatedly stole cash and drugs from motorists, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Antoine Larry, of Bolingbrook, worked for the Phoenix Police Department with fellow officer Jarrett Snowden when the pair conspired from 2020-22 to steal from vehicle occupants during traffic stops by offering to reduce or withhold criminal charges, decline to tow the vehicles, or release the cars from impoundment, Patch reported in 2023.
In some instances, Larry and Snowden agreed to sell stolen drugs to a dealer and then split the proceeds amongst themselves, according to the 2023 indictment. To conceal the thefts, they also falsified police reports so that the reports did not reflect the seized items, the indictment said.

Larry’s conviction followed a two-week trial, the Tribune reported, adding Snowden pleaded guilty to the conspiracy two years ago and testified against Larry, who is set to be sentenced in April.
Larry’s lawyer, Beau Brindley, took issue with the verdict, citing unreliable witnesses and investigative mistakes, telling the Tribune in a statement that “we believe reasonable doubt was obvious,” and noting plans to pursue exoneration.
