Famous Footwear to Open New Bolingbrook Store

Famous Footwear on Thursday announced it will open its 20th Chicago-area store Sept. 10 at 631 E.Boughton Rd. in Bolingbrook.

A series of grand-opening events is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, for the 4,274-square-foot store.

“Our decision to open a new store in Bolingbrook was based on a recognized consumer need, and we look forward to delivering a great footwear shopping destination,” Famous Footwear President Rick Ausick said in a press release.

While the Bolingbrook store opens Sept. 10, grand opening festivities are set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 20. Activities include:

· Special in-store promotions every two hours

· A local shoe artist customizing shoes for customers from noon to 6 p.m.

· Drawings every hour from noon to 6 p.m. for a chance to win free shoes

· An appearance from popular local radio station, WKSC-FM 103.5, giving shoppers the chance to meet some of their favorite radio personalities

· A DJ spinning live music

Famous Footwear has more than 1,100 stores nationwide, as well as offering online shopping.
