Fired Temp Worker Hauled Off In Handcuffs, Spits On Police
Marcellus Shorty is now residing in the Will County Jail.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Marcellus Shorty, a 37-year-old man from Chicago, is now locked up in Will County's Jail after getting into a fight following news of his dismissal from a temporary employment office in Bolingbrook, according to police. Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, Bolingbrook squad cars were sent to the 300 block of East Crossroads Parkway where police determined "Shorty had a physical altercation with another employee in the restroom. Shorty punched the victim and struck the victim with a can of air freshener," reports from the Bolingbrook Police Department show.
Police say that "Shorty was terminated and while being escorted off the property, (he) punched a security officer. Shorty also made threats to employees and the business."
Bolingbrook officers eventually found Shorty in the area, and as they were taking him into custody they found "a pill" in his possession, which police identified as MDMA, which is commonly known as Ecstasy.

Shorty did not like the prospect of going jail, reports show. "While in the intake area (of the Will County Jail) Shorty spit on a Bolingbrook Officer," reports show.
Shorty now faces two counts of battery, possession of a controlled substance, resisting a police officer and aggravated battery.

Jail logs show that Shorty's bail was set at $75,000. He has not come up with the 10 percent as of yet.
