Waubonsie Valley Football Star Accused in Vicious, Disabling 2014 Beating of Fellow Student

The ex-football player, Waubonsie Valley High School and District 204 are being sued in DuPage County Court.

A student claims that he suffered severe and permanent injuries when he got beat up by another student during an intramural basketball game at Waubonsie Valley High School.

Jordan Mostich filed a civil suit in DuPage County Circuit Court against Indian Prairie High School Dist. 204, Waubonsie Valley High School and student Demario Webb.

Mostich charges that he and Webb, then a star football player for the Waubonsie Valley Warriors, were playing against each in an intramural basketball league game on Jan. 29, 2014.

The lawsuit alleges that Webb was verbally threatening Mostich throughout the game when he intentionally fell on top of Mostich.

Webb grabbed the student with both arms and physically threw Mostich to the gymnasium floor. After Mostich had been thrown to the ground, Webb crawled on top of him and began punching the student about the head and face with a closed fist, the complaint said.

As a result of Webb’s alleged conduct, Mostich says he sustained disabling personal injuries from the throwdown, causing him to experience “great pain and suffering” as well as spend money on medical care.

The lawsuit contends that Waubonsie Valley High School and Dist. 204 neglected to provide a safe environment by not providing a certified referee to umpire the game. The only adult available to supervise the participants was a physical education teacher, who allowed the game to continue when it became increasingly aggressive and physical.

Mostich is asking for $50,000 in damages. He is being represented by Aurora attorney Kelly Q. Bennett.
