Fountaindale Library Collecting Kindness Stories For Kindness Day 2026

Children and teens are invited to submit a story of kindness by March 14.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Kindness Day Bolingbrook will return this year in May, and the Fountaindale Public Library is already working on publishing a second collection of kindness stories for this year's event.

Children and teens are invited to submit a story of kindness, according to the library. You can stop by to pick up your writing kid from the Children's Services or Vortex desks in the library. Submissions must be returned by March 14.

The Library is also hosting two Kindness Day writing retreats for grades K-12; one on March 2 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and one on March 9 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Selected authors will receive a free hard copy of the book, and be honored at a special celebration ceremony. The Library said it first collected stories for Kindness Day in 2021.

Kindness Day 2026 will be held on May 16, with a variety of activities on that day throughout Bolingbrook.
