Fourth Annual Bolingbrook CrossTrail Classic 5K Sept. 19
The race fee is $24, but will increase to $26 for race day registration.

This is no ordinary 5K. Participants will have to earn every inch of the 3.1 mile course through Indian Boundary Park and up through Hidden Oaks. Now in its fourth year, Bolingbrook Park District and LifeStyles Fitness Center will host the CrossTrail Classic 5K. With nine different stations including the climbing wall, quad step and tire pull, you will get the ultimate workout before you cross the finish line.
Starting at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, participants will start at Indian Boundary Park, follow the greenway toward Hidden Lakes, traverse the trails up to Hidden Oaks, and make their way back to Indian Boundary Park.

“This is a great race for a newcomer because it’s small and really has a community feel” said Fitness Manager of LifeStyles Fitness Center, John Chase. “It’s a good challenge, but it’s more about the fun and competing with yourself than it is about being competitive with others. How many other races have a tradition of doing a group picture at the end?”
Race fee is only $24 and will increase to $26 for race day registration (starting at 7:30 am). Those interested can register at the Annerino Community Center, Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatics Complex or online at www.runsignup.com/crosstrailclassic5K. Pre-registration closes on Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 pm.

If you’re not ready for the race quite yet, but still want to be a part of the action, volunteers are needed for pre-race set-up, manning obstacles and post-race clean-up. If interested, contact John Chase at (630) 783-6648 or jchase@bolingbrookparks.org.
“The neat thing about volunteering for this race is that you’re actually in the action, at an obstacle, helping people out as opposed to standing on a street,” said Chase. “It’s a lot of fun for a volunteer, no question about it.”
