Garba Night Returns To Bolingbrook Oct. 14

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Local nonprofit Sanskriti will bring back its popular Garba Night event, after a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sanskriti is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting and preserving India's cultural heritage, according to a news release. Garba is a traditional dance form originating from the state of Gujarat, and it holds deep significance in Indian culture, the organization said.
The dance form is often performed during Navratri, a nine-night festival dedicated to the goddess Durga.

Garba Night will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bolingbrook High School, 365 Raider Way.
Tickets can be bought online, and early booking is recommended due to limited availability, according to the nonprofit.

"[The nonprofit's] mission is to provide a platform where individuals can come together, share their experiences, and celebrate their cultural heritage," Bhavini Patel, Founder of Sanskriti, said in a release. "We believe that cultural events possess the power to break down barriers and foster greater understanding and appreciation amongst people from diverse backgrounds."
The Bolingbrook community and beyond is invited to Garba Night.
