Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint, 2 Men Arrested: Bolingbrook PD

Police responded to the gas station at 101 E. Boughton Road at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, for a report of an armed robbery.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two men have been arrested and charged after an armed robbery at a Shell gas station in Bolingbrook on Sunday, according to Bolingbrook Police.

Police responded to the gas station at 101 E. Boughton Road at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, for a report of an armed robbery. It was reported that a man had just robbed the store while pointing a handgun at the clerk; a second man was also in the store with the offender, police said

The men fled the scene eastbound on Boughton Road in a black GMC Yukon. Officers in the area saw a black Yukon eastbound on Boughton approaching I-355 and initiated a traffic stop, according to police.

Two handguns were recovered during the traffic stop, police said.

Police said the man attempted to purchase a cigar from the gas station and was asked for identification. The man then produced a black handgun, pointed it at the clerk, and left the store with the cigar.

BPD Detectives and Evidence Technicians responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.

Dezmond Dockett, 24, of Lafayette, Indiana, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Carnail Mims, 23, of Hanover Park, was charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon for possession of a handgun without a FOID card. Mims was charged and released.
