Girls Basketball: Lady Raiders Top Homewood-Flossmoor 90-61
Senior forward Morgan Tuck scores 41 points and nabs 14 rebounds to help Bolingbrook improve to 10-1 on the season.
Homewood-Flossmoor is not an easy hardwood opponent, but Bolingbrook's high-powered offense overwhelmed the Vikings as the Lady Raiders raced to a 90-61 home win Thursday night.
The Lady Raiders (10-1, 4-0 Southwest Suburban) shot 34-of-64 (53.1 percent) from the field while holding the Vikings (12-6, 4-1 Southwest Suburban) to 17-of-41 (41.4 percent).
did it again, producing her second consecutive 40-point game as she dropped 41 on Homewood-Flossmoor on 14-of-20 shooting. Tuck also added 14 rebounds and four assists.

"Tuck showed why she is the best player in the state," Vikings head coach Dana Noble said. "Our girls played hard and battled the whole game. They didn't stop playing until the game ended."
Tuck's teammates also got involved. Senior guards Keira Ray and Allie Hill combined for 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including converting six 3-pointers.

"Our guards have been doing a great job," Tuck said. "People thought since we lost Ariel (Massengale) and Taylor (Tuck) at the guards that we were not going to have any good guards. They've been proving people wrong as they know how to step up and do the same things."
Bolingbrook was able to take care of the basketball, turning the ball over just 10 times with a bulk coming in the fourth quarter when the game was lopsided.
Junior point guard Kennedy Cattenhead said she and her teammates were working on quicker passing and getting the ball through zone gaps into the post for easy buckets.
"It feels good to put up all those points, but we need to get better because we should've held them to less points then they got," Cattenhead said. "We still have to get into the gym and work harder."
Bolingbrook head coach Anthony Smith wasn't happy with surrendering 61 points, as he said Lady Raider basketball is supposed to be about tough, intense defense.
"We were trying to outscore them and they did a great job doing it, but that's not our brand of ball here," Smith said. "We forgot to play defense. It is still pretty early in the season, but we have to start putting together complete games, and tonight wasn't one of them."
Even though Smith was unhappy with the defensive effort, the Lady Raiders forced 15 turnovers while senior forward Nia Moore added three strong blocks.
For the Vikings, senior guard Charnelle Reed scored 25 points. Teammates Jalyn Willis and Lauren Parker added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Joliet West (5-7, 1-2 Soutwest Suburban) will host Bolingbrook 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
