Gordon Biersch In Bolingbrook Becomes Rock Bottom Restaurant
The transformation of Bolingbrook's restaurant is taking place this week.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Thursday, Jan. 25 marks an important date for a popular restaurant in Bolingbrook. Gordon Biersch will officially change its name and become the Rock Bottom Bolingbrook. The Bolingbrook Promenade restaurant at 639 E. Boughton Road was expected to be closed from Jan. 21-25 "for this exciting brand update," Gordon Biersch's Bolingbrook Facebook page informed its patrons.
According to Gordon Biersch's website, Bolingbrook had been the national restaurant chain's only current location in Illinois. Rock Bottom, on the other hand, already has a strong presence in the Chicago area. Bolingbrook becomes the fifth Rock Bottom in the region, according to Rock Bottom's website. Its other Rock Bottoms are located on West Grand Avenue in Chicago; on Diehl Road in Warrenville; at Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard; and South La Grange Road in Orland Park.
News of the switch prompted a variety of reactions from Gordon Biersch's Facebook followers around Bolingbrook. Here's a sampling of their comments that were posted on social media.
