Gunman Punched Clerk During 7-Eleven Robbery: Bolingbrook Police
Five armed suspect robbed the convenience store early Saturday, according to police.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Five handgun-wielding robbers stuck up a Bolingbrook 7-Eleven early Saturday morning and assaulted the clerk, who was able to escape, police said. Police responded to the convenience store, 398 S. Schmidt Road, at 2:40 a.m. Saturday for a report of an armed robbery in which five suspects, all armed with handguns, entered the store and ordered the clerk to open the cash registers, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Anthony Columbus.
The suspects, described as black males around the ages of 17 to 24, stole cash and cigarettes, and one punched the clerk, according to police. The clerk was able to flee the store and call police while the suspects reportedly fled in a black four-door sedan.
Columbus said Bolingbrook evidence technicians processed the scene, and officers found some of the proceeds of the robbery in the parking lot.

The clerk did not require medical attention, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
