Hidden Lakes Trout Farm Closes In Preparation Of Trout Season
The preserve will be closed Oct. 11 through Oct. 14, and will reopen Oct. 15.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Hidden Lakes Trout Farm will be closed from Oct. 11 through Oct. 14 in preparation of the state's fall trout season, according to the Forest Preserve District of Will County.
Hidden Lakes Trout Farm will take part in the state’s fall trout season courtesy of a donation from Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, the preserve said. A portion of the DuPage River Trail that goes through the preserve will also be closed Tuesday through Friday.
Trout season will begin Oct. 15 at the preserve.

The donation from Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Outdoor Fund was given to The Nature Foundation of Will County, which is funding the purchase of trout to stock Hidden Lakes for the fall season, according to the preserve.
Trout fishing will start at 8 a.m. on Oct. 15 at Hidden Lakes. All anglers who participate must have a state trout stamp and must follow all Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Forest Preserve regulations. The daily limit is five, the preserve said.

The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund receives money when customers round up their change while checking out. The fund works on conservation projects and also aims to connect new audiences to the outdoors, according to the preserve.
