There's a chill in the air. The leaves have begun to change and fall.
And there's a chill indoors, too.
From the United Center in Chicago to ice rinks around the suburbs- the hockey season is upon us.
That means the Blackhawks open the 2013-14 season this week as defending Stanley Cup Champions for the second time in four years.
And for the first time, the indoor chill at Rocket Ice Arena in Bolingbrook is where players ages 50 and older will take to the ice in a new recreational hockey league- Hockey Five-0.
The name says it all. Players are required to be 50 or older.
The interest has been good. There are just over fifty players signed up which relates to four teams ready to compete in the inaugural season.
The first games will be played Friday, October 4, 2013 at 9:30 pm and 10:40 pm.
If you're interested in playing, drop a line to hockeyfivezero@gmail.com drop by Rocket Ice Arena, 180 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook, IL or call 630-679-1700 for more information on Hockey Five-0.
