Man Attacked Good Samaritan In Bolingbrook: Cops
Asim Jeelani, 33, was arrested by Bolingbrook Police for serious violent crimes.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Bolingbrook Police officers were called to a tense scene on Wednesday evening involving a man from Addison who police say was attacking other people. In the end, Bolingbrook Police officers took Asim Jeelani, 33, away in handcuffs, charging him with aggravated battery.
According to Bolingbrook's Police Department, officers were sent to the 200 block of S. Bolingbrook Drive on Wednesday evening for a battery.
"The victim was driving through the parking lot when she observed the offender, Asim Jeelani, 33 years of age, last known address in Addison, kicking a male who was on the ground," reports show.

Police say the woman stopped and got out of her car, and told "Jeelani to stop kicking the subject on the ground. Jeelani attacked the victim, spitting at her and punching her. Jeelani threw the victim to the ground and began kicking the victim. Jeelani was pushed away by another occupant of the car and he walked away," police said.
The victim's injuries were minor, police said.

Around 7:45 p.m., Bolingbrook officers found Jeelani and they put him in handcuffs. From there, he was taken for a ride to downtown Joliet. He was booked and processed as a new inmate at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
Will County Jail logs show that Jeelani drew a $100,000 bail. The jail shows he remained in custody Thursday night, and it listed him as being a homeless Bolingbrook resident.
