Juveniles Charged After Traffic Stop Yields Pot, Pistol: Police

The three juveniles face traffic and criminal charges after Bolingbrook Police said they found marijuana and an air soft pistol in the car.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Three juveniles were taken into custody on Saturday night after police discovered marijuana and an airsoft pistol in a car that police say had previously fled from officers during a routine traffic stop, police said Sunday.

The ages and identities of the juveniles were not released by police. Bolingbrook Police said that the car was spotted by officers at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Out of an abundance of caution, multiple officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle at Falconridge Way and Ashbury Avenue, police said in a news release.

Officers found both the marijuana and the pistol in the car, police said, and the three juveniles were charged with various traffic and criminal offenses as a result of the stop. All three juveniles were released to their parents.
