Kinetic Dance Company Raises $15,000 for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
The Kinetic Dance Company of Bolingbrook reached their goal of raising $15,000 for the American Cancer Society's Relay for LIfe!
The Kinetic Dance Company of Bolingbrook, a nonprofit organization, participated in the Relay for Life Bolingbrook on May 30, 2015. Cancer has touched the lives of many KDC families. The Kinetic Dance Company has been participating in this event for 11 years. This year, the dancers met their $15,000 fundraising goal and the total is still expected to increase from corporate matching funds.
The top fundraisers this year were Maddie and Catie Zafir at $2025, Emily Baez at $2000 , Claire Mitchell at $1035, and Hannah Losic at $1005. In total, we had 6 team members , including the KDC director, join the “Grand Club” in the Relay for Life by raising over $1000.
In addition to raising over $15,000 for The American Cancer Society, the Kinetic Dance Company also performed an upbeat series of dances in the early part of the event. Due to the extreme weather resulting in heavy rain and winds, the Kinetic Dance Company’s second show was cancelled. Although the dancers would have loved to move the audience through several “HOPE” pieces that tribute to all those who are affected by this disease, the girls were very appreciative to be part of such a rewarding event.
