Kinetic Dance Company Shines at Dupree Dance Convention

The Kinetic Dance Company of Dance Dimensions in Bolingbrook won multiple awards at Dupree Dance Convention and Competition at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center on October 3 and 4. The following are the results for each piece that performed:

1st Place and $150 prize “Star Spangled Man”

1st Place “Just Fine”

1st Place “I Can Fly”

2nd Place Overall “Dance Like No One is Watching”

2nd Place “Ironman”

4th Place “Shakedown”

‘The Precious Award’ “Dance Like No One is Watching”

‘Keeping Jazz Alive’ award “Just Fine”

Platinum Awards: “Star Spangled Man,” “Dance Like No One is Watching,” “Iron Man” and “Just Fine”

Gold Awards: “Batdance,” “I Can Fly” and “Shakedown”

Dupree Dance Scholarship winners:

Whitney Boyd, Elisebeth Rowe, Emma Reimer, Hannah Losic and Andi Cooper

In addition to the many awards won, the dancers attended classes taught by industry professionals in multiple styles of dance over the two days of the convention. Every dancer then had the opportunity to perform some of what they learned at the closing showcase.
