Sex Crime In CVS Pharmacy Leads To Arrest: Cops

Bismark Opare of Bolingbrook was arrested by Bolingbrook Police on Sunday.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - A 24-year-old man from Bolingbrook has spent his entire week at the Will County Jail and he may be staying there for a long time. On Sunday night, the Bolingbrook Police Department took Bismark Opare into custody. The Will County State's Attorney's Office has charged Opare with several serious felony crimes: attempted criminal sexual abuse by force, criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery at a public place.

Bolingbrook's Police Department provided Patch with the following summary of the events regarding Opare's arrest. Here are the key details:

At 4:55 p.m., a woman notified the Bolingbrook police that she received an unwanted hug from a complete stranger and that the man got away from the area before the officers arrived. "The victim was able to give a description of the offender. The offender was located in the area and identified as Bismark Opare," reports show.

Opare resides in the 500 block of Preston Drive in Bolingbrook.

While officers were speaking to Opare, another woman notified the police about Opare's conduct. That woman told police that Opare had grabbed her at 1188 W. Boughton Road, which is the address for the CVS Pharmacy business.

"The offender, positively identified as Opare, approached an adult female in the store and grabbed her by the waist. Opare then touched her buttocks and attempted to touch her private parts," police reports show.

The woman pushed Opare away and that's when "he grabbed her wrist attempting to touch her again," police stated.

A Will County judge gave Opare a $50,000 bail. As of Thursday afternoon, Opare has not been able to produce 10 percent, of $5,000, to post as bond.
