Man Robs Bank In Bolingbrook, Gets Arrested Hours Later: Police

The FBI is investigating the bank robbery with Bolingbrook police.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A man was arrested hours after a reported bank robbery Friday in Bolingbrook, authorities said.

The robbery was reported just before 2 p.m. at U.S. Bank on 443 N Bolingbrook Dr. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, but police say they obtained surveillance footage of him and a photo of the vehicle he used to flee the scene.

Bolingbrook police collaborated with the FBI and distributed the suspect and vehicle descriptions to patrols. Shortly after 4 p.m., a patrol officer found the vehicle parked and unoccupied on the 200 block of South Bolingbrook Drive, police said.

Police found the suspect walking on Fernwood Drive shortly after. The suspect — identified as Arthur Gage Jr., 44, of Woodridge — was taken into custody after a brief investigation, police said.

  • armed habitual criminal
  • unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon
  • aggravated unlawful use of a weapon
  • unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition

He was jailed in the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Bolingbrook police are consulting with the FBI as the federal agency investigates the attempted bank robbery, officials said.
