Man Shot, Killed By Bolingbrook Police After Stabbing Dog, Man: Police
Police said the man stabbed and killed the dog, then stabbing the other man before officers arrived and shot the suspect, who later died.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A man who had stabbed and killed a dog and then stabbed another man was shot by Bolingbrook police on Friday and later died at a local hospital, police said.
The incident took place at 3:22 p.m. in the 500 block of Spruce Road, where officers were called regarding the stabbing, police said. Reports indicated that the man had stabbed and killed the dog, then also stabbed the other person.
Police said in a news release that officers engaged with the suspect and shot him. The suspect and the stabbing victim were both taken to local hospitals, where the offender died, police said. The stabbing victim is in stable condition, police said.

Police said that the incident is considered isolated and that there is no threat to the general public. The incident is under investigation by the Will Grundy Major Crimes Task Force.
