Man Had Heroin In Bolingbrook: Cops

This man now finds himself in the Will County Jail.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - A 43-year-old man who lives in the tiny Illinois town of Sparland now finds himself locked up in Will County after Bolingbrook Police officers arrested him on heroin charges. Nathan Putnum was picked up in Bolingbrook shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday. His arrest occurred in the 500 block of South Bolingbrook Drive where officers "observed suspicious activity consistent with a drug transaction," reports show.

According to Bolingbrook Police, "officers spoke with all involved parties and received inconsistent statements." At that point, Putnum was told to get out of his car, which he did.

"Upon searching Putnum’s vehicle, officers located a small cylinder containing a small amount of heroin. Putnam was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility," the police said.

Sparland is a town of about 400 people near Peoria. It's about 105 miles from Bolingbrook.

The defendant's social media profile indicates he graduated from high school in Sparland, works as an electrician and his Facebook page introduction notes, "I am a full grown man baby."

Putnum was to appear before a Will County judge to have a bail hearing Thursday afternoon.
