New Bloodhound Joins Bolingbrook Police Department
Scout and Officer Britton will serve as the primary tracking team for the department.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A new member of the Bolingbrook Police Department reported for duty on Monday. Bloodhound Deputy Chief Scout, the department's third K-9, had her first day of work with handler Officer Alexia Britton, the department said in a news release.
"The K-9 Unit is vital to the success of the Bolingbrook Police Department, the department said. "The department’s two senior K-9s are multipurpose dogs who assist officers with evidence searches and offender apprehensions."
Scout and officer Britton will serve as the primary tracking team, the department said. Scout will be able to help find missing residents, and work as a partner for officers during search and recovery assignments.

The department said Scout is a 3-month-old Bloodhound, who will live and train with Britton. The department said they are assigned to the community outreach team, and residents can come say hello at the next community event.
