New Start, End Times For Valley View Students
The first day of school for K-12 students is Aug. 17.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — When Valley View students head back to school on Aug. 17, there will be changes to the start and end times of the school day, the District shared in a release.
"We know that even small changes to a daily school schedule affect each family’s schedule and require a great deal of coordination," the District said. "We want to provide everyone ample time to make adjustments."
The new changes will begin on the first day of school on Aug. 17 (Aug. 21 for early childhood students). School day times will be:

- Early childhood full day, students arrive at 9:25 a.m., school begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.
- Early childhood a.m. session, students arrive at 9:25 a.m., school begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at noon
- Early childhood p.m. session, students arrive at 12:55 p.m., school begins at 1 p.m., and school ends at 3:30 p.m.
- Grades K-5, students arrive at 8:55 a.m, school begins at 9:05 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.
- Grades 6-8, students arrive at 8:10 a.m., school begins at 8:20 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m.
- Grades 9-12, students arrive between 6:40 and 7:15 a.m., school begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m.
- STEP program, students arrive at 7:15 a.m., school begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.
The District said there will also be two early release days per month for grades K-12. December will have three early release days, as the third will be held on the day before winter break.
"Additionally, the VVSD Transportation Department will communicate specific pick-up and drop-off times reflecting these arrival and dismissal adjustments," the District said.
