Obituary: Allison Hoffert Faith

Allison Hoffert Faith, 43, of Corydon, Indiana, died Dec. 17 after a 3 and a half year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Allison Hoffert Faith, 43, of Corydon, Indiana, died Dec. 17 after a 3 and a half year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Allison is survived in death by her beloved husband, Matthew, their children Nathan and Madeline, and her dog, River. She is also survived by her parents, John and Kim Hoffert, her sister and brother-in-law Meagan and Ryan Krift, their children Harrison, Anabel and Estella, her mother and father-in-law Dennis and Rebecca Faith, and brother and sister-in-law Denny and Alma Faith.

All that knew Allison have described her as a bright light and so much of that came from her love of teaching and literature. For the last 10 years, Allison was an English teacher at Corydon Central High School, where she absolutely loved her students and was privileged to serve as the National Honor Society sponsor.

Allison was a graduate of Bolingbrook High School in Bolingbrook and Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. She obtained a Masters of English and a Masters of Education both from the University of Louisville.

Allison was an avid sports fan of both the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team and the Cincinnati Reds. She especially cherished her phone calls to her father to discuss the results of each game. Teaching, reading and watching her Cats play brought Allison great joy. Nothing was more important to her than her sweet family and her two beautiful children. During her private fight with cancer, her primary request was to keep everything as normal possible for them.

Allison will be honored in a celebration of life this spring in Corydon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Allison’s Legacy of Light.
