Obituary: Nicholas G. Genemaras

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory​.

Nicholas G. Genemaras, age 65, of Morris, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Arcadia Care of Morris. He was born in Chicago, IL to Alberta and the late Nicholas Genemaras.

Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Gapinski) Genemaras; his children, Jennifer (Mike) Lennhardt and Nicholas (Lauren) Genemaras; grandchildren, Abe and Elyse Lennhardt; his mother, Bobbie Genemaras; sister, Colleen Pluta and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Nick passed away at the age of 65. He married his high school sweetheart. He could be found with his family with a cup of Dunkin Donuts in hand. Fishing was a love of Nick’s, taking numerous fishing trips and teaching his kids and grandkids to fish. Nick loved spending time with his son at the racetrack and watching NASCAR. Nick was loved by all due to his caring nature, quick wit and humor. Nick will be deeply missed by all.

A visitation for Nicholas Genemaras will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. As it was Nicholas' request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
