Parkie's 5K, Fun Run Planned In Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Park District will hold Parkie's 5K, and Super Parkie's fun run on Aug. 27, at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex.

The 5K race is for ages 6 and up, and the first 500 participants will get a T-shirt, according to the park district website. The race begins at 8 a.m. on Aug. 27, and race-day registration will be available at 6:30 a.m.

Everyone earns a finisher's gift, and there will be awards for the top finisher in each age category for male and female, the park district said on its website.

Super Parkie's fun run is for ages 10 and under. A 100-yard dash will be held right after the Parkie's 5K race, according to the park district. Pre-registered fun run runners will get a cape to wear.
