Police Offering $10,000 Reward for Information on Bolingbrook Girl's Disappearance

She went missing from her home 20 years ago.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of whoever was involved in the disappearance of Rachel Marie Mellon.

Rachel went missing Jan. 31, 1996, from her Bolingbrook home. She’s been missing ever since. Today marks what would be her 34th birthday.

On the day of her disappearance, she stayed home from middle school because of a sore throat. Her stepfather told police she went to take a nap and was discovered missing by a younger sibling about an hour later.

A reward up to $10,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Bolingbrook for information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges against the person involved in her disappearance.
