FBI Investigating Possible Contaminant At Bolingbrook PD

The police department lobby has reopened, and staff have been released from quarantine.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The FBI has taken a liquid substance, which was turned into the Bolingbrook Police Department on Monday, for further analysis, Bolingbrook Police said in a release.

The Bolingbrook and Naperville fire departments did perform testing on the substance, and determined it was not an immediate threat, police said.

The substance was turned in to the Bolingbrook Police Department at 2:15 p.m. Monday by two men and a woman, according to Bolingbrook Police.

The Bolingbrook Fire Department was contacted to respond to the scene, and the department lobby was closed and those who had contact with the substance were quarantined.

On Tuesday, police said the lobby has now reopened, and all personnel have been released from quarantine. There are no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
