The Promenade Bolingbrook Hosts Holiday Tree Lighting

The event will feature a holiday craft show, performances from local groups, crafts, magic shows and more.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Promenade Bolingbrook will kick off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday.

The event will feature horse trolley rides, Santa visits, crafts, balloon twisters, a holiday craft show and performances from local groups.

  • Horse trolley rides from 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Santa visits started at 3 p.m.
  • Crafts rooms, balloon twisters and face painters from 3 to 5:45 p.m.
  • Magic Show on Hemingway Trail at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
  • Story time at Barnes and Noble at 3, 4 and 5 p.m.
  • A holiday craft/vendor shows on the Row from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The community arts showcase will also feature several local performers in the round-a-bout of The Promenade:

  • Levy Center Line Dancers, Bolingbrook High School Bailadores from 3 to 3:15 p.m.
  • Bolingbrook Community Chorus from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m.
  • Dance Dimensions from 3:55 to 4:25 p.m.
  • Jane Addams/Humphrey Middle School choir, John F. Kennedy Middle School choir from 4:30 to 4:50 p.m.
  • Bolingbrook High School theatre improv team, from 4:55 to 5:10 p.m.
  • Ballet Folklorico Infinity, 5:15 to 5:35 p.m.
  • Bolingbrook High School Madrigal singers, 5:40 to 6 p.m.

The Bolingbrook nonprofit coalition will also be collecting new items for those in need this holiday season. Those who donate at the event will be entered for a chance to win a $200 gift card, according to The Promenade. Needed items include: new hats, scarves and gloves for children and adults; new adult socks, flannel shirts, winter wear and non-perishable food items.
