The Board approved an annexation agreement and special use permit last May. Board documents state that phase 1 includes 27 building blocks for the 142 townhomes, and eight out lots; phase 2 would be 43 single-family lots, and two out lots; and phase 3 would be eight single-family lots and two out lots.
The out lots provide space for landscaping, open space and stormwater retention.

"Bolingbrook is a desirable place to be," Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said. "It's evident by the developers that want to be here, the types of homes that are going up. It's evident by the occupancy rates at our apartment complexes."
Access to the lots would be off of Essington Road, which would be realigned as part of the project, according to Board documents. There would also be another access point off of Bent Grass Way, and a stub street will be provided for future access to the currently vacant property to the south.
