No Evidence Of Shots Fired, Person With Gun Report False: BPD
Police found no evidence of shots fired and said a person who reportedly had a gun at AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital really had a phone.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Police found no evidence of a shooting Tuesday despite a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Remington Boulevard, according to a news release from the Bolingbrook Police Department.
Police said a report later in the afternoon of a person with a gun at AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital turned out to be false, and that the person had a cell phone in their hand.
The events began at 2:12 p.m. with a report of a stolen Jeep Cherokee from an auto detailer in the 400 block of Woodcreek Drive. The Jeep was left unattended and was stolen by an unknown person, police said.

At 2:43 p.m., a large police presence responded to the 400 block of Remington Boulevard after a report of shots fired and a black Jeep Cherokee driving through the area.
"No victims were located and no evidence was located that shots were fired," police said in an update issued Tuesday evening. "Due to its close proximity, officers cleared Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home as a precaution and no offenders were located."

Then, at 3:27 p.m., police responded to a report of a person possibly armed with a gun on the second floor of AdventHealth Bolingbrook. Officers quickly found the person and verified they were holding a cell phone, not a gun, police said.
"There were no reported victims and no witnesses were located," police said. "Officers were unable to verify the report of shots fired, and no evidence of a shooting was located."
The incident remains under investigation. Police did not say if the stolen Jeep Cherokee was recovered.
