Driver Injured After Crash On I-55 Near Weber: Police

Police said that "for unknown reasons" a pick-up truck struck the rear of a construction zone crash attenuator trailer that was parked.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — One driver suffered minor injuries after an early morning crash on Interstate 55 southbound on Thursday, according to Illinois State Police.

The two-unit crash happened at 5:09 a.m. Thursday, on I-55 north of Weber Road, police said.

Police said that "for unknown reasons" a pick-up truck struck the rear of a construction zone crash attenuator trailer that was parked in the left lane of the blocked off construction area.

The trailer was not attached to a vehicle.

The driver of the pick-up was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, police said.

All lanes, including the southbound ramp at Route 53, were shut down while police responded to the scene and moved the vehicles out of the road, police said.

All lanes are now reopened.
