Stabbing Victim Dies After Domestic Incident: Police

A 25-year-old man has died after he was stabbed in the chest on Monday in Bolingbrook, police said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A man who was stabbed Monday during a "domestic-related" incident has died, Bolingbrook Police said in a news release.

The man had been in critical condition, but succumbed to his injury, police said in an update on Monday evening. The man's identity is being withheld, pending the notification of family members.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive at 2:23 p.m. Monday for a 25-year-old man who had been stabbed, police said. Officers found the victim and the female offender.

The man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition with a single stab wound to the chest. The woman was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The stabbing continues to be investigated, and charges are pending, police said. This was an isolated incident and appears to be domestic-related, police said.
