Thieves Hit Walgreens, Meijer: Bolingbrook Crime Blotter

It's your look at criminal activity in Bolingbrook during the past week.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - It's time for your regular report looking at recent criminal activity in the village of Bolingbrook. The following information was provided courtesy of the Bolingbrook Police Department.

AUGUST 2

Emrah Mijia, 22, 1620 Richmond Circle, Joliet, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, illegal use of cell phone while driving and no insurance, following a patrol stop on the 100 block of Bowman Street at 3:40 pm.

AUGUST 3

A 2018 Volvo semi-trailer was taken from the 200 block of W. South Frontage Rd. between August 3-6.

Alex Hernandez – Garcia, 27, 151 Creekside Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with DUI, no insurance and traffic sign violation, following a traffic stop at Briarcliff and Schmidt Roads at 10:41 p.m.

AUGUST 4

Jovani Ortega, 18, 606 N. Broadway St., Joliet, and a 17-year-old juvenile, Bolingbrook, was charged with unlawful use of weapon and unlawful possession of firearm/ammunition, following a traffic stop at Remington Blvd. & Brookview Ln. at 3:48 a.m.

AUGUST 5

Officers responded to Walgreens, 1295 Lily Cache Lane for the report of a retail theft. The store thief placed numerous over the counter medications in a cart and exited the store at 6:24 p.m. without rendering payment. Loss value at $500.

Officers were called to Meijer, 225 N. Weber Rd., for a retail theft. A store thief placed numerous over the counter medications in a cart and exited the store at 1:31 pm without rendering payment. Loss value at $1,500.

Corey Noble, 44, 8215 84th Ave., Justice, was charged with retail theft from Costco, 830 E. Boughton Road, at 5:14 p.m.

Ricardo Espinoza, 33, 342 Thistle Dr., was charged with domestic battery, resisting a peace officer, aggravated battery, interfering with reporting domestic violence and unlawful restraint, following a call to the 400 block of Rockhurst Rd. at 3:06 a.m. Last week, Bolingbrook wrote this full story about Ricardo Espinoza's arrest.

AUGUST 7

A vehicle parked along 115th St. & Belvedere Blvd. was damaged from rocks thrown by unknown people at 7 p.m.

Travis Hatcher, 21, 1416 Englewood Ave., Joliet, was charged with two in-state warrants and no insurance, following a traffic stop on the 500 block of W. Boughton Rd. at 1:20 pm.
