Traveling Exhibit On Display At Fountaindale Library

The exhibit displays documents and photographs from the Civil War.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A national travel panel exhibition, "Freedom: A History of US" is on display through Nov. 12 at the Fountaindale Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road.

The exhibition is organized by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, according to the library website.

The exhibit is on the third floor of the library, and is open during library hours. The exhibit displays documents and photographs from the Civil War.

According to the library website, the exhibit includes reproductions of a rare 1776 printing of the Declaration of Independence, a printed draft and the official copy of the U.S. Constitution, letters by Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony and Martin Luther King, Jr., and handwritten notes from Abraham Lincoln for his speeches.

The exhibit coincides with early voting at the library, which runs through Nov. 7.
