Valley View Athletes to Attend State Wrestling Finals

Seven Valley View student athletes will attend next weekend’s IESA middle school state wrestling finals at Northern Illinois University, according to a release from the school district.

Humphrey Middle School 6th grader Elias Medina won the 70 pound weight class and Lukancic Middle School 8th grader Christian Dondiego was the 155 pound weight class champ at the Reed-Custer sectional, according to the release.

Other VVSD state qualifiers out of Reed-Custer were 8th graders Rafael Carpintero (2nd at 112), Anthony Mark (3rd at 119) and Donovan Dehoyos (2nd at 185), all from A. Vito Martinez Middle School, the release said.

Two Brooks Middle School 8th graders, Cameron Hargrove (2nd at 90) and Jamari Fry (3rd at 109) made it to state through the Huntley sectional.
