Valley View Holds Middle School Writers Conference

This year's guest was Lindsay Currie, who is the author of "Scritch Scratch," "What Lives in the Woods," and "The Girl in White."

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Valley View School District welcomes its most talented middle school writers at its VVSD Middle School Writer's Conference this week at Bolingbrook Golf Club.

According to the District, the conference brings together English Language Arts students who are nominated to attend by their teachers. Annually, the conference presents an opportunity for students to work closely with a published author of middle grade youth literature.

This year's guest was Lindsay Currie, who is the author of "Scritch Scratch," "What Lives in the Woods," and "The Girl in White," the district said.

Students attend the main presentation and then a more personalized session with the guest of honor and work with ELA teachers from other VVSD middle schools, according to the District.
