Valley View, NAMI Offer Mental Health Education Program For Families
The free educational program is for family and friends of people living with mental illness.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Valley View School District and the Will-Grundy Counties Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness are teaming up to offer a free educational program for family and friends of people living with mental illness, according to a release from the district.
Family-to-Family is available at Romeoville High School on Thursdays from Sept. 29 to Nov. 17 and at Bolingbrook High School on Tuesdays from Oct. 4 to Nov. 22. Both programs run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Family-to-Family is a designated evidenced-based program, the district said. Research shows that the program improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual living with a mental health condition.
