Valley View Offers Signing Bonus For Transportation Jobs

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Valley View School District is offering up to a $1,000 signing bonus for transportation jobs as it faces staffing challenges, the district said in a news release.

"So far, our transportation staff has been able to satisfy all our commitments," the district said in a release. "However, there have been times since the start of the school year we’ve been forced to alter routes and find creative solutions to provide the level of safety and service that VVSD’s students deserve and parents, guardians, and the entire community have come to expect."

The district said it is approaching a point where services may need to be limited because the demand cannot be met by its current supply of drivers.

In addition to the signing bonus, the district said it offers competitive wages, insurance benefits, a pension plan and a 6-hour per day guarantee. Drivers could also earn additional wages for field trips and co-curricular activities.
