Valley View Proposes 2025-26 School Year Calendar

WILL COUNTY, IL — At the Valley View Board of Education meeting on Nov. 18, District administration proposed the 2025-26 school year calendar.

The Board is expected to take action on the calendar at the Dec. 8 board meeting. You can comment on the proposed calendar on the District's website.

Here's a look at some dates in the proposed calendar:

• Aug. 14, first day of student attendance (K-12)
• Aug. 25, first day of student attendance for early childhood
• Sept. 1, Labor Day, no school
• Sept. 10, early release
• Sept. 24, early release
• Oct. 8, early release
• Oct. 13, Indigenous Peoples Day, no school
• Oct. 22, early release
• Oct. 30, teacher work day, no student attendance
• Oct. 31, parent-teacher conferences, no student attendance
• Nov. 5, early release
• Nov. 19, early release
• Nov. 26-28, 2025, Thanksgiving break, no school
• Dec. 10, 2025, early release
• Dec. 19, 2025, early release
• Dec. 22, 2025, winter break begins
• Jan. 5, 2026, teacher work day, no student attendance
