Valley View Students Head Back To School Aug. 18

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Although it may not seem like it, there's just over a month before Valley View students head back to school on Aug. 18.

There are still a few weeks to enjoy summer, but as we get closer to the start of the school year, here's a look at what dates you should know for the 2022-23 school calendar.

• Aug. 15, 16 - Teacher Institute Days, no student attendance
• Aug. 17 - Teacher work day, no student attendance
• Aug. 18 - First student attendance day for K-12
• Aug. 22 - First student attendance day for early childhood
• Sept. 5 - Labor Day, no school
• Sept. 28 - Early release day
• Oct. 10 - Indigenous Peoples Day, no school
• Oct. 26 - Early release day
• Oct. 28 - Parent-teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 8 - Election Day, no school
• Nov. 11 - Veterans Day, no school
• Nov. 16 - Early release
• Nov. 23-25 - Thanksgiving break, no school
• Dec. 7 - Early release
• Dec. 21 - Winter break begins
• Jan. 5 - First day after winter break
• Jan. 16 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
• Jan. 25 - Early release
• Feb. 20 - Presidents' Day, no school
