Water Rescue In Whalon Lake: Police Respond To Car In Water

The Forest Prserve District of Will County said a woman drove her vehicle into Whalon Lake at 12:23 p.m. on Friday.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Multiple agencies responded to a report of a vehicle in the water at Whalon Lake on Tuesday.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County said a woman drove her vehicle into Whalon Lake at 12:23 p.m. on Friday.

Witnesses called for help, and Bolingbrook Police and Fire were able to assist the woman out of the water, the preserve said. The woman was taken to the hospital, and was in stable condition.

No one else was in the vehicle, which was removed from the lake at 3:15 p.m., the preserve said.

Whalon Lake is a preserve of the Forest Preserve District of Will County. It is located on Royce Road, west of Route 53.

The 80-acre lake offers access to shoreline fishing and there is a boat launch on the lake for small fishing boats, according to the preserve website.
