White Castle Customer Lands In Will County Slammer
This man who visited the White Castle later attacked Bolingbrook's police officers, the agency said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL -A Chicago man who decided to stop for a late-night snack at the White Castle in Bolingbrook is now locked away from society at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Authorities say that Matthew Bruce refused to leave the White Castle drive-thru lane and then he attacked a Bolingbrook Police officer who tried to reason with him.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Bolingbrook Drive, at the White Castle fast-food restaurant.
According to police, Bruce "refused to leave and attempted to strike an employee. (He) was belligerent and struck the drive thru with his fist."

"Officers spoke to Bruce who stated he paid for food, which he never received, and he refused to leave. (Actually) Bruce had not paid for any food and was told he needed to vacate White Castle property," police reports reflect.
Bolingbrook officers suspected that Bruce was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. He was told to step out of his van by the officers, but Bruce refused to do so, reports show.
Finally, the Bolingbrook Police officers went into Bruce's van and yanked him out, reports state.
He was arrested on a slew of criminal charges:
- Criminal trespass to property
- Disorderly conduct
- Resisting a police officer
- Driving under the influence of alcohol
After being put in the backseat of the squad car, Bruce went for a ride to the Bolingbrook Police Station for processing. There, tensions escalated, police reports indicate.
"While at the department, Bruce became combative and attacked an officer, pulling the officer to the ground. After a struggle, officers were able to secure Bruce," reports state.
Police tacked on another felony charge, aggravated battery, and then officers put Bruce back into a squad car and drove him to Joliet.
Bruce was admitted into the Will Count Jail around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
As of Monday night, he was still there.
Bolingbrook Police reports show that Bruce lives in Chicago in the 4100 block of West George.
