Woman Slapped, Punched In Face In Early Morning Battery: Police
A 40-year-old Joliet man "battered the victim and fled the scene" before police arrived Monday morning, officials said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Officers responded to a domestic battery call around 4:42 a.m. Monday and found a woman with "obvious injuries" from being punched and slapped in the face, police said. Her car's windshield was also shattered, according to authorities.
Officials said Janaro Andre McClellan, of the 1300 block of Pawnee Street in Joliet, "battered the victim and fled the scene" before they arrived. The woman refused medical help, police said.
About an hour later, at 5:30 a.m., police said they were notified McClellan was back in the area and saw him running from the scene. After an extensive search, officers found the 40-year-old and took him into custody without incident.
