4 Armed Robberies Reported In Under 48 Hours In Logan Square

A suspect is threatening people on the street with a weapon and then robbing them, police warned.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert for the 14th District warning of armed robberies. Police said a suspect is walking up to people on the street and threatening them with a weapon, before demanding their property. Four robberies were reported April 11 and 12 in Logan Square, police said.

In two of the incidents, the offender went up to the victims quietly from behind and then threatened them, police said.

The armed robberies happened in the following locations:

· 2500 block of N. Drake Avenue on April 11, at around 2:35 a.m.
· 1700 block of N. Troy Avenue on April 11 around 4:00 a.m.
· 3000 block of W. Cortland Avenue April 12 between 12:30 and 12:39 a.m.
· 2900 block of West George Avenue April 12 at around 1:14 a.m.

In two of the armed robberies, victims were near their cars when they were targeted, police said.
