Barre Workout Studio Filling Vacant Bucktown Storefront by End of July
A new workout trend is making its way to Bucktown this summer. Read on for more information about what makes this particular way to sweat so unique.

Fitness-minded Bucktown residents will soon have one more place to sweat. And the workout they'll get is far from conventional.
Pure Barre will replace the empty space at 1837 W. North Ave. that once housed popular clothing store, Akira, sources say. It will be one of only a few ballet barre workout studios in the neighborhood.
The concept for Pure Barre's workout, the brainchild of Carrie Rezabek Dorr in Michigan, uses small movements that create muscle tension without muscle contraction on the ballet barre to, "lift your seat, tone your thighs and burn fat," according to Pure Barre's website.
The workout ends with a portion of stretching in order to avoid bulking up, and rather "create long, lean muscles."

Although the specific date is not yet determined, the studio will open before the end of July, according to Bucktown studio manager Aleksa Narbutaitis. Owners will keep the studio's Facebook page updated as more information becomes available.
They will also spotlight Bucktown's instructors and upcoming events.
