Beaten Cyclist Starts GoFundMe: 'Help Me Get My Face Back'
A man has started raising funds to pay for braces after he was hit by a drum in a dispute.

CHICAGO, IL -- A cyclist who was hit in the face with a drum has started a GoFundMe page to pay for his braces. On the page, Trajan Vivens, 23, called the man who hit him racist, and said he can't afford to cover the $4,000 needed for surgery. A video posted on Facebook shows Vivens smashing a van window after arguing with its driver. The driver then hit Vivens in the face with the drum.
In an interview with DNAinfo, Vivens said the driver clipped him while he was riding his bike on West Division near Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. Vivens said anger took over when the van driver called him the 'n-word' during their argument. Vivens then smashed the back window of the van, and the man hit Vivens in the face with the drum.
"I am now in need of braces," Vivens wrote on the GoFundMe page.

"My insurance does not cover all of [that] and I only need $4,000 to cover the rest of the surgery. Help me get my face back please," he explained.
By early Tuesday afternoon, the page had raised $415, with 245 shares on Facebook.
