Big Star Accepts Credit Cards Now
"Technology has advanced," owner says in decision to allow plastic payments for the first time.

WICKER PARK - The one drawback of the Big Star taco joint on Damen Ave. for years has been its cash-only policy.

But not anymore. The popular Wicker Park taqueria ditched their cash-only policy and began accepting the plastic payments beginning Tuesday.
"We have decided to accept credit cards because: 1) it's what our guests want 2) we need to move forward as the rest of the neighborhood has 3) technology has advanced,” Terry Alexander, business partner, told the Chicago Eater.

The always busy from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. diner near the Damen Ave. Blue Line stop at 1531 N. Damen Ave. has been described on Yelp as “ridiculously good.”
“Guacamole and queso fondido was perfection as well,” wrote a Yelp reviewer from Indianapolis. “My kid stole my tacos and ate them, he doesn't normally eat tacos. He and I both wanted more.”
