Bouncer Shot At Wicker Park Club: Police

The shooting happened outside the evilOlive nightclub, police said.

CHICAGO — A bouncer was shot outside a nightclub in the Wicker Park neighborhood early Wednesday, police said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to officials.

The shooting happened around 3:44 a.m. outside the evilOlive nightclub in the 1500 block of West Division Street, police said.

The bouncer got into an argument with someone, according to police. The person then took out a gun and fired several shots at the bouncer, police said.

The bouncer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, officials said.

A person of interest was taken into custody for questioning, according to police. A weapon was recovered from the scene, police said.

Ashland Avenue was blocked off near Division Street while authorities investigated, and buses were rerouted.

The investigation was ongoing.
