Police said a suspect drove through a stop sign and struck the car.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are searching for a suspect after a hit and run Tuesday morning on the Near West Side. A driver ran a stop sign while heading east on Congress Parkway, police said. The driver's 2000 Nissan struck a 2008 Buick around 4:40 a.m., according to police.
The Buick then flipped over a fence, police said. Its driver—a 70-year-old man—was able to get out of the car on his own and refused medical attention, police said. The crash happened in the 1800 block of West Ogden Avenue.
The suspect took off in an unknown direction, police said. No one was in custody as of Tuesday morning.
